OVERVIEW
COURSE SUMMARY
The ITLS Provider course (Basic or Advanced; ~16 hours over 2 days) blends interactive lectures, high-fidelity trauma scenarios, and hands-on skills stations. Participants practice the complete ITLS trauma assessment, airway and thoracic management (including needle decompression), hemorrhage control, vascular access, spine motion restriction, and safe patient extrication. Team-based megacode simulations emphasize decisive leadership, clear communication, and seamless transition to definitive care. Content aligns with the latest ITLS Provider Manual and complements PHTLS and other trauma guidelines.
Course Requirements
Current AHA/ARC BLS Provider card
Valid EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, or MD license—or enrollment in an approved program
Recommended: familiarity with trauma anatomy and basic airway skills
Proof of immunizations and photo ID
Ability to kneel, lift, and perform invasive skills on simulation stations
Payment and online pre-test (if assigned) completed before day 1
